Where is Wood Bay?
Situated on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia, Wood Bay lies approximately 2km north-west of Secret Cove in the lower part of Malaspina Strait -- a marine area including southern Pender Harbour, Thormanby Islands, Welcome Passage and Halfmoon Bay.
This area is home to several marine parks, world-famous dive sites, pristine kyacking waters, key maritime shelters, traditional fishing spots, vacation accommodations, and numerous other tourist facilities. Malaspina Strait is also an important thoroughfare for recreational pleasurecraft travelling to and from Desolation Sound and beyond. In addition, tugs carry logbooms to local sawmills, and numerous other local commercial marine traffic navigates the area.
All of these acivities could be severely impacted by PPA's proposed activities for Wood Bay.
